Custom Jewellery Manufacturing:
That’s it. The days where retailers manufacture custom jewellery designs out of their own shops are soon gone. If retailers want to keep up with the fast growing digital world, they must delegate their work and outsource for custom jewellery manufacturing jobs while their main focus is understanding their business market and knowing how to work online through ecommerce platforms and social media.
Our team here at Strausberg Bros, Custom Jewellery Manufacturers is here to help retailers outsource their work in the most productive way possible.
We established a leading custom jewellery manufacturer that will help jewellery retailers take the work load off their shoulders by focusing on bringing in new customers and keeping old ones from going away.
Now let us brief you through the procedure of our jewellery manufacturers operating system.
Jewellery design: The designing process.
As a leading custom jewellery manufacturer, we must obtain a proper and mutual communication level with you, the retailer. Before starting, you will need to send us proper instruction as per what the custom jewellery design you are looking for. You can either send us a sketch or an image that exemplifies the custom jewellery design you are looking to manufacture. Always include a writing instructions together with the image or sketch you’re sending.
Instructions with no images will be a bit difficult to understand if your custom jewellery designs are a bit more complicated than plain simple. For example, a 14K, size 6 wedding band, containing seven 2.0mm diamonds is an easy jewellery design to understand as opposed to this image:
Log into your tracking-jobs account, open a new job, and upload the image files you wish to send. Next, add your specific requests as per the custom design you wish to create and send.
Once you’re happy with the quote and agree on the terms we can begin designing. Needless to say that we will never begin to design your custom jewellery before understanding exactly what is it that you wish to design.
The turnaround time to complete jewellery designs:
The average turnaround time we need to complete a custom design is five business days. In some cases, it can be faster. However, take note that some custom designs might require more time depending on the amount of work they require us to do.
Renderings and Approvals:
Once our team at Strausberg Bros will complete designing your jewellery, you will receive an email linking you to our online job tracker on www.trackingjobs.com where you will find a few photorealistic image files (renderings) that will illustrate how the ultimate design of your custom jewellery will look.
This will give you a clearer perspective of your custom jewellery design and in case you wish to add, reduce, or modify some elements, you can send an additional request and we’ll start working on it.
Please understand that your custom jewellery design is in line together with other customers. Therefore, small to average modifications will take an additional 2-3 business days to complete. In rare cases, where you wish to completely change your custom jewellery design, we might need an additional five business days to complete. We’ll let you know.
Our team here at Strausberg Bros will take the cost charges on the modification required in case this was an error on behalf our designers. If new or additional unclarified modifications need to be done, we might charge you depending on the time it took our custom designers to modify.
One your jobs is approved, we will proceed and begin manufacturing them.
Jewellery waxes: 3D printing and hand carving custom jewellery waxes.
Printing jewellery waxes in 3D:
Our team at Strausberg Bros uses two main printers to print jewellery waxes for casting.
Up until recently, we used the Solid-Scape 3D printer to grew waxes that are more sensitive to minute details upon the jewellery casting process. EnvisionTech was mainly used for growing waxes that are less sensitive to minor details.
This changed however, since these technologies have improved. Today, we mostly use the EnvisionTech Aerus Plus 3d Jewellery Wax Printer. This monster machine is able to print a substantial amount of high-quality waxes in a fraction of the time used earlier.
At Strausberg Bros, we offer the ability to have waxes delivered to you prior to casting in case you wish to get a better understating of your custom jewellery design.
When approving a custom design on www.trackingjobs.com, you will be given the option to proceed by first receiving the wax model. Shipping charges will apply. In case the wax won’t be returned back to us, we will need to grow a new one. Charges will apply here as well.
Hand carved Jewellery waxes:
Using high-end technology to serve us better doesn’t mean that old
methods aren’t better sometimes.
Hand carved jewellery waxes are necessary whenever we need to manufacture
jewellery that needs to match and fit tightly another piece of jewellery. For example,
a perfectly matching wedding band for an existing wedding ring or a jacket for an
The hand carvers here at Strausberg Bros will create state of the art jewellery waxes, literally. Not only will they perfectly match the new model(s) to the existing piece but they will also make sure that the overall jewellery design stays intact, mainly, that they’ll obtain their aesthetic features on a maximum level. If we won’t be able to make it, you will know up front.
Jewellery castings: Turning custom jewellery into precious metals.
Casting custom jewellery is something we’re proud to have an extremely high reputation for, and here’s why.
We don’t integrate old metals with new ones. Here’s a confession: There was a time when this didn’t matter us too much but we paid the price. Metals started producing porosity, pinholes and cracks. The worst part was when jewellery we casted started showing signs of tear a few months later. Our reputation was at steak and customers were leaving us.
All metals we use are completely new. We mentioned that earlier, and we’re mentioning this here again.
The metals we cast in jewellery:
Strausberg Bros custom jewellery casting services offers a variety of metals for you to choose from.
14K Super White
18K Super White
Before proceeding, we will make sure that the casting fits the demands of your custom jewellery design. At times, certain materials won’t go as well together as they will with others. For example, setting micro-pave stones in 14K Super White can cause problems since this kind off metal is brittle.
Is it possible to do cast-only jobs?
If you manufacture your own jewellery but you wish to cast them with us, then it might become an issue. We do accept cast-only jobs whenever there’s a balance between cast-only jobs and other custom design works. This is due to the fact that we’re wholesalers and we try to keep our profit margin low. In jewellery casting however, the margins are extremely low at a cost of a large amount of cash flow. In a perfect world where everybody pays on time, then this wouldn’t be a problem. Unfortunately, this is not case, and we are not willing to take the hit for obvious reasons.
Custom Jewellery setting: The process of setting precious stones into your jewellery.
The procedure of setting jewellery is one that varies drastically amongst manufacturers. The type of jewellery settings done on any piece will highly determine the final quality of the work done.
Here at Strausberg Bros we take this matter very seriously. Firstly, because the slightest performance could end up being very costly. Precious stones generally, and diamonds specifically can easily skyrocket in their value. Secondly, if jewellery setting is done wrong our reputation is on the line, mainly because at times the stone(s) contain a high sentimental value to the ultimate customer. Thirdly, even if the setting seemed to be right at first, and no stone was damaged, no retailer is fond of sending back custom jewellery that contains loose diamonds at a later period of time.
That being said, our focus in custom jewellery setting is to use perfectly matching stone(s) for any given job, aligning them evenly, and most importantly making sure that the settings are tight and in place to avoid any loose elements in the future.
The setters here at Strausberg Bros are trained to use microscopes at all times in order to keep attention to details at a peak. We will never compromise to set uneven or unsuitable stones. Customers who provide stones that don’t fit, will be notified upfront that the job is impossible do.
Jewellery polishing and finishing: Turning your jewellery into a magnificent masterpiece:
The process of polishing and finishing jewellery is a true art that only a few best can perfectly master. Yes, polishers exist by many but true polishers are rare.
Here, at Strausberg Bros, we’re extremely picky when is comes to the hiring custom jewellery polishers. The ultimate solidity and beauty of a custom jewellery design will depend entirely on the final touch it received.
Loose stones, scratches, uneven widths, and vulnerable prongs are only a small list of possible effects that can be done with bad jewellery finishing.
Polishing and finishing custom jewellery will sometimes consist of plating a certain metal in rhodium. This procedure is also done delicately, and most importantly with the best rhodium product. The rhodium we use here at Strausberg Bros consists of our own recipe. This is no wonder why our custom jewellery works are so demanded.
